Randal has supported the clean energy and transportation industries for 20 years. He has worked as an Engineer for companies and authorities such as the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission, Mavi Innovations, and DeHavilland Canada. Randal is a Transport Canada Delegated Engineer for aircraft structures.​

Randal completed his Ph.D. in mechanical engineering at the University of British Columbia and has served as a Director of Engineering in Clean Energy Technology development. He has significant experience in project management, project development, structural design, technical regulation, and testing on innovative systems, components, and materials.​

Randal has a lifelong interest in the outdoors, environment, and sustainability, and supports the application of Cleantech Solutions to counter the impacts of climate change on Canada.​
